Avoid Overuse of scrubs
Many of us , in a hurry to look good, ignore the functions of a specifickeep-
it-clean beauty enhancing product, its purpose and above all it’s suitability to us. We do scrubbing to exfoliate. Exfoliation is the process of removing the dead akin cells. They accumulate over the outermost skin surface. It is essential to know that human cells grow.
They age and they die. These dead cells are to be removed from time to time as we remove the accumulated debris. Face scrubs are very important for those who have oily skins. Oily skinned people are more prone to whiteheads and blackheads. This is due to the reason that oily skinned people’s skin produces more oils. When the production of hormones in the human body in excessive quantity, the glands secrete more oils. This happens in teens between puberty and a little thereafter, because at this stage, the production of hormones is maximum.
These oils get deposited in the hair follicles of the skin. The deposited oils in the hair follicles will lead to the formation of whiteheads. The reason is, cellular fragments close the top of the whiteheads and prevent them from exposure to air and oxygen. Unexposure to air and oxygen will strengthen the growth of the whiteheads, further leading to Acne that affects millions of people all over the world.
Replacing the cleansers with scrubs is one of the common mistakes done by the people. If one’s skin is sensitive, using face scrub more than once in a week will lead to the sagging of the skin. Hence it’s recommended to use the scrub once in a week. Not more than that.
When it comes to choosing an ideal scrub. I prefer St. Ives apricot scrub. It effectively exfoliates and is suitable to the sensitive skin. If you have acne, choose one with salicylic acid. For some people, it may not be suitable because it over dries the skin. Ensure to apply only light pressure while scrubbing. Applying over pressure will lead to raw looking skin.
