Be Informed Before Buying a Facial Cleanser
The cosmetic and skin care is a large money making industry. With advertisements in magazines, television, we are constantly being told that their product is the best and that it will deliver what you are looking for and the results will be amazing.
We can spend high amounts of money and end up using the product once and it sits in the cupboard in the bathroom, never to be used again. We need to be aware and know what ingredients that work for us.
The skin is the largest organ on the body and we need to take care of it. Good nutrition and lots of water is what we need for the inside, but what we need for the outside, is to preserve and protect the skin. It all starts with a good cleanser, that helps are skin to breath.
One of the first things you need to know is what kind of skin you have. There are so many cleansers out on the market that address certain skin types, from combination skin, to aging skin. Finding out what type of skin you have and addressing what your skin needs. If you don’t know what type of skin you have, and if you are out shopping at a department store, stop and speak to a cosmologist. She can help you determine what type of skin you have or if you don’t want to do this, sticking with cleansers that are for sensitive skin will be a safer choice. They are usually always gentle!
When looking for a facial cleanser, make sure that it won’t strip the natural oils in your skin. Your skin has a natural ph balance and stripping these oils will cause your skin to become dry and irritated. You want a cleanser that you can use twice a day and not be harsh. Some facial cleansers are just meant to use once a week as in exfoliating cleansers. By using this kind of cleanser to often will harm your outer layer of your skin. It can be very irritating to the skin and cause inflammation, so use wisely!
Organic or natural cleansers are always the best for the skin. They contain natural, healthy ingredients, which will help your skin to replenish it self. They usually will contain essential minerals that are healthy to the skin. Organic cleansers can be more costly, but when it comes to the skin, and you know that it’s natural and won’t harm the skin, you won’t mind paying a little extra.
Always be an informed consumer and know your skin well. Read your labels and if you don’t know what an ingredient is, look it up on the internet, or the local library will have articles and books you can search.
A good facial cleanser is the most important product you can use. It removes the dirt and grime of everyday living. It removes our make up. It preps and prepares the skin to take moisture from the creams and lotions that we apply. Using the proper facial cleanser will help us to have a clean and a healthy complexion.
